A common barrier to a successful program startup is the coordination and consistency of training. Since its inception, the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine has been receiving requests from clinicians, from hospitals setting up their own facilities and from national joint venture wound care companies to provide introductory training and education in the field of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for physicians, nurses and technicians. The ACHM offers a variety of training programs to prepare hyperbaric practioners for certification in the practice of hyperbaric medicine and wound care.
