Hyperbaric Safety Director
Phelps Memorial Hospital Center is currently recruiting for a Hyperbaric Safety Director.
The hospital is a 238-bed not-for-profit acute care
hospital situated on a scenic Hudson River campus in beautiful Sleepy Hollow,
NY, just 35 miles north of New York City. We are dedicated to providing excellence in

The Department of Hyperbaric Medicine at Phelps is
home to the largest multi-place chamber in the Northeastern United States. It
is a dual lock system, nine (9) ft. in diameter, twenty-eight (28) ft. long,
and seats 12 patients. The center performs approximately 2500 patient
treatments per year.
The Hyperbaric Safety Director is a Hyperbaric
Technologist who is responsible for the ongoing safety operations of the
Hyperbaric Medicine Department. He or she provides oversight of maintenance of
the hyperbaric chamber and equipment in compliance with standards and regulations
established by local, state and federal authorities including, but not limited
to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Pressure Vessels for
Human Occupancy (PVHO), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Undersea
and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) and Compressed Gas Association (CGA).
A High School Diploma/GED is required with a minimum
of five (5) years experience in multi-place hyperbaric chamber operations. Additional requirements include a
Current/valid certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-National or
NYS) or Paramedic, current/valid certification in Hyperbaric Technology (CHT)
by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT), and
current/valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Knowledge of NFPA 99,
Standard for Health Care Facilities recommendations regarding Hyperbaric
Chambers chapter 20 (2012 chapter 14) is required. The candidate must pass an annual
Dive Medicine physical exam, as conducted by a qualified hyperbaric physician
who holds a valid certification as a Dive Medical Examiner (COME) or physician qualified
as a Dive Medical Officer (DMO) approved by the National Oceanic &
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the UHMS, and the Hyperbaric Medical
Director. The applicant must have successfully completed a UHMS/NBDHMT
Recognized Safety Director training course with a valid certificate. Computer
proficiency, including skills in MS Office and Excel software required. Ability
to read, write and communicate in English is required.

Hyperbaric Technician - Piedmont Fayette Hospital, Fayetteville, GA
The
Hyperbaric Tech provides a safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric
chambers and related support equipment; and provides direct patient care and
prepares documents concerning the patient care.
The
Hyperbaric Technician will be certified and/or licensed in one of the following
vocations or hold a diploma from an accredited institution in one of the
following professions to meet the minimum education and experience
requirements: Respiratory Therapist,
Athletic Trainer, Rad Tech, Med Tech, EMT, Paramedic or LPN.
Successful
completion of clinical program with licensure or certification with State of GA
or other recognized authority with hyperbaric experience is required of the
Hyperbaric Technician; as well as a current CPR card. They will also have the
ability to learn to use the computer system; the ability to communicate
effectively with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies,
vendors, and others; and the ability to interpret information and make
independent decisions. The Hyperbaric Tech must have the emotional stamina to
deal with a variety of stressful situations including emergency response to
patient incidents and the ability to pay attention to detail.
This
is a full-time position; rotating shifts may be required.

Manager - Wound Care Clinic
at UAB Hospital
Job Description:
To supervise operations and
staff for orthopedic trauma, trauma/burn and wound care. To
collaboratively develop protocols, policies and procedures with appropriate
physician staff. To administer human resource functions such as hiring, staff
supervision, performance evaluation, scheduling and disciplinary actions. To
manage regulatory and JCAHO compliance issues. To contribute to the
annual development of the budget and to monitor expenditures. To
coordinate marketing and promotional activities. To administer hyperbaric
oxygen therapy to patients as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing,
Respiratory or other relevant allied health profession and three (3) years
clinical experience including one (1) year hyperbaric experience required.
Licensure / Certifications:
Certified Hyperbaric
Technologist (CHT) by the National Board of Diving & Hyperbaric Medical
Technology preferred.

Medical Director
The Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Center (WHHC) at Virginia Hospital Center
seeks a full time Medical Director to lead and expand our program. The WHHC has seen steady growth since its
inception in 2009, and will be seeking UHMS accreditation this Fall 2011.
The Medical Director provides full time patient care
services along with the nurse practitioners.
In addition, the Medical Director will lead the Center in the planning
and implementation of program development and quality measures with the goal to
earn Joint Commission Certification in Wound Care. Staff includes registered nurses, a certified
hyperbaric technologist, and administrative support.
